Music Review: Pranali
I just stumbled upon this movie’s music and I was tempted to see how Kailash Kher does in his first attempt in music direction. Verdict is I liked it.
The album features seven songs and “sach Na Batana” is a song which is featured three times. Kailsh Kher has sung the song two times including the remix version and the third song is sung Udit Narayan. All three songs sound good and since I am a die hard Udit fan, my favourite is Udit’s version.
Among others, “Tandav” seems to have been picturized as dance just as the name of song suggest. It features Pt. Birju Maharaj’s voice.
“Bikhar Gayee” is another song which features two times - first sung by Madhushri and second, my Kailash himself. This song depicts the spirit of the movie, sufferings of Pranali - the lead character in the movie - and the realities of the society.
“Sakhiyan” has an joyous theme and sung well by Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mahalaxmi and Richa Sharma.

Music Review: Woodstock Villa
Sikandar Kher, son of Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher, debuts with Woodstock Villa. it’s a thriller from Sanjay Gupta stable but he is not alone - he has a company of Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. The movie previews I have gone through were awesome and now only time will tell if becomes a success at the box office.
Nevertheless, the music is out now and I got hold of it. I liked all of the songs but my favourites are “Koi Chala Ja Raha Ha (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan)”, “Raakh Ho Ja Tu” and “Dhokha Dega” - both sung by Shibani Kashyap. “Dhoka (Aanchal Datta Bhatia)” is a fast paced song and is catchy. Mika’s “Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag” sounds very much like his “Dil Mein Baji Guitar” and has similar mood. Seems he is specializing that genre.
Sanjay Gupta/Sanjay Dutt’s association with “The Aryans” is not new and they have done “Kyun” for this movie as well. The song and music (which is done by them as well) is good and has made it to my favourites already.
“Yeh Pyaar Hai (Anchal Datta Bhatia, Shaan)” is a slow romantic song. It goes smooth and would become popular with love birds.
“Koi Chala Ja Raha Ha (Rahat Fateh Ali Khan)” has a blue mood and features amazing music. Shibani Kashyap rocks as usual in “Raakh Ho Ja Tu” and “Dhokha Dega”. Her charm is at it again and she is slowly becoming a class all by herself.
Rest of the songs are club mix versions of “Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag (Mika)” and “Dhoka (Aanchal)” and should remain on the charts for some time.

Music Review: Tashan
Vishal-Shekhar are again at it and have done a good job with this album. They seem to know the pulse of bollywood music lovers.
This is the latest flick from YashRaj and the promos being aired leave a good impression. Much like Bhhaiyaji (Anil Kapoor) announces “furst impresson ij lasht impresson”, it has me looking forward to watch the movie.
Four of the songs in this album are one lines spoken by the lead characters of the movie - “Bhhaiyyaji Ka Tashan (Anil Kapoor)”, “Jimmy Ka Tashan (Saif)”, “Bachchan Pande Ka Tashan (Akshay Kumar)” and “Pooja Ka Tashan (Kareena Kapoor)”. They successfully do what they are supposed - evoke interest in the movie and show the shades of the characters they are playing in the movie.
My personal favourites are “Dil Haara (Sukhwinder Singh)” and “Chhaliya (Sunidhi Chauhan, Piyush Mishra)”. Sukhwinder does justice to the song “Dil Haara” and perfectly compliments the excellent music rendered by Vishal and Shekhar. Sunidhi Chauhan rocks in “Chhaliya” and this is the same song where Kareena Kapoor is showing off her new-found hot bod.
Another favourite of mine is “Falak Tak”, a romantic song sung by Udit Narayan and Mahalaxmi Iyer and it goes really smooth on the ears and gets to your lips quickly. “Tashan Mein” is a rock song and Vishal with Saleem did a good job with it and the spirit of the song lives in it.
The song which I always listen when I revisit this album on my MP3 player is “Dil Dance Maare (Sukhwinder Singh, Udit Narayan, Sunidhi)” - it’s a funky song and if you can manage to listen to this song - you’ll love it. It will appeal to the audience who love songs like “Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare” and “Ladka Aankh Maare”.
